Tenancy Tribunal application forms change on June 19
The Department of Building and Housing is changing its Tenancy Tribunal forms to make it easier for you to lodge an application. The new forms will replace the existing forms from June 19. Please continue to use the existing forms until then.
From June 19 only applications on the new forms will be accepted. The existing form will be replaced by two forms – a grey form for landlords and a teal form for tenants. The new forms are easy to fill out and include clear instructions.
You will be able to get the new forms from early June by calling 0800 TENANCY (0800 83 62 62) or visiting one of our offices. As now, payment will be made as by:
• payment stickers available from the Department of Building and Housing
• paying at a Westpac branch by eftpos, cheque or cash
• eftpos at some offices
Once payment is made the new forms will be posted to PO Box 50 546 Porirua or faxed to (040 237 1058).
The new application forms are part of a package of changes which will help landlords and tenants access dispute resolution services in the way that best suits them. These include extended hours for phone advice, more places to access face to face services by appointment, the ability to make an application online and pay by credit card and a new service to resolve simple disputes within 24 hours through phone mediation. These changes will be introduced gradually during the next few months.
